Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and DocVex.

By accessing or using the DocVex desktop and web applications (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you are using the Service on behalf of a firm or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

Use of the Service

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

Your content

Documents and data you create or upload remain yours. DocVex stores project files locally on your device; we do not claim ownership of your content and access it only as needed to provide the Service.

Availability & changes

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes to these terms.

This is a template summary and not legal advice. The binding terms will be reviewed and finalized by counsel before launch.

Privacy Policy

What we collect and how we use it.

DocVex is built privacy-first. We collect the minimum information needed to operate your account and the Service.

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, and authentication identifiers.
  • Usage data needed to deliver collaboration and AI features.
  • Support communications you send us.

How we use it

To provide and secure the Service, to communicate with you, and to improve product reliability. We do not sell your personal data.

Your project files

Project documents are stored locally in a folder you choose; they are not uploaded to a DocVex cloud file store.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time — see GDPR Compliance below.

Cookie Policy

How DocVex uses local storage and cookies.

The web application uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your selected theme. These are required for the Service to function.

Categories

  • Essential — authentication session and security.
  • Preferences — theme and interface settings.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear stored data at any time from your browser settings.

GDPR Compliance

Your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation.

DocVex processes personal data in accordance with the GDPR. As a data subject you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability where applicable.

You can erase your account and cached data directly from your account settings, or contact us to exercise any of these rights at docvexteam@docvex.ro.

Security & Confidentiality

How we protect your firm's work.

Confidentiality is foundational for legal work. DocVex applies layered safeguards to keep your data protected.

  • Encrypted authentication and transport for all account operations.
  • Row-level security so members only access projects they belong to.
  • Project files kept local to your device — no cloud file store.
  • Signed, verified installers served directly from official releases.

If you discover a security issue, please report it to docvexteam@docvex.ro so we can address it promptly.
