DocVex — Legal
DocVex uses only the browser storage the Service needs to function — signing you in and remembering your preferences. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.

Scope.
This policy explains how the docvex.ro website, the web application at docvex.ro/app, and the DocVex desktop application use cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB). It supplements the Privacy Policy.
A short primer.
Cookies are small files a website places in your browser; localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB are related browser mechanisms for storing data on your device. DocVex primarily uses browser storage rather than cookies: the authentication session and your preferences are held in localStorage, temporary caches in sessionStorage, and (on the web app) the connection to your local project folder in IndexedDB.
Everything we store falls into two categories: essential (the Service cannot work without it) and preferences (remembering choices you made). We use no analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking storage of any kind.
The complete inventory.
| Storage | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session (sb-*) | Essential | Keeps you signed in to your DocVex account (Supabase session tokens). | Until sign-out or expiry |
| Theme (docvex.site.theme, docvex.theme.*) | Preference | Remembers your Cream/Ink theme choice on the site and in the app. | Until cleared |
| App preferences (docvex.appPrefs.*) | Preference | Interface settings such as text size, display scale, language, and file view. | Until cleared |
| Workspace state (docvex.*) | Essential / Preference | Selected project, chat read-markers, notification history, recently opened projects, cached AI results for files you opened. | Until cleared |
| Release & digest caches (sessionStorage) | Essential | Short-lived caches of release notes and the legal-feed briefing to avoid repeated fetches. | Browser session |
| Folder handle (IndexedDB, web app only) | Essential | Remembers which local folder you granted the web app access to, per project. | Until disconnected or cleared |
All of this data stays in your browser or app profile on your device; it is storage about your session and preferences, not a tracking mechanism.
External services a page may contact.
None of these are used by DocVex for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You are in control.
You can clear DocVex's stored data at any time from your browser's site-data settings, or in the app via Account → Erase data, which signs you out everywhere and clears local storage. Because the stored items are essential or preference-only, there is no consent banner to manage — blocking the essential storage simply means you cannot stay signed in.
Staying informed.
If we ever introduce a new category of storage — for example privacy-respecting analytics — we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent. Questions: docvexteam@docvex.ro.
